As part of the project, Adair County Public Library has posted a history of the old Porter School with many pictures and memorabilia from the historic school.
According to Adair System Administrator Sharon Piper, the physical Porter School collections were practically inaccessible by the public because of preservation issues, and most of the public was not aware that the collections even existed.
With the help of the MOREnet connection and funding from the State Library for the digitization project, many Missouri libraries are able to share collections like Adair’s with the world.
