MOREnet Affiliates include private K-12 schools, libraries, non-profit organizations, community information networks and similar organizations not eligible for other MOREnet managed programs. (Organizations such as proprietary schools or for-profit organizations are not eligible to become a MOREnet Affiliate.)

Higher education

Ninety percent of Missouri's public and independent higher education institutions receive Internet access through MOREnet as participants in the Missouri Education and Research Consortium (MERC). MERC strives to advance the collaborative use of networked technology and applications in higher education, research and public service. Students, faculty, administration and staff depend on MOREnet's stable and robust network to do their jobs, conduct research, conduct or take online classes, study and use e-mail.

K-12

MOREnet's K-12 Technology Network Program (K-12 TNP), sponsored by Missouri's Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), seeks to improve student performance and enhance teaching and learning through the effective use of technology in the classroom. MOREnet's K-12 TNP brings Internet connectivity, technical support, online resources, training and other services into Missouri's classrooms.

Members

MOREnet members include K-12 schools, colleges, universities, public libraries, state government and more. Users from members organizations can use this forum to discuss topics that cross disciplinary boundaries.

MOREnet

The Missouri Research and Education Network (MOREnet) provides Internet connectivity, access to Internet2, technical support, videoconferencing services and training to Missouri's K-12 schools, colleges and universities, public libraries, health care, state government and other affiliated organizations. User this forum to discuss the benefits and issues of MOREnet membership.

News

Education- and technology-related topics commonly appear in mainstream media, academic journals and specialized publications. This forum is reserved for discussion of news stories on topics of interest to MOREnet users.

Public libraries

Whether they reside in a large metropolitan area or a small, rural agricultural community, all Missouri citizens have MOREnet Internet access through the Remote Electronic Access for Libraries (REAL) Program. REAL provides Missourians the opportunity to use the Internet for research, formal and continuing education, business and recreation at their local public libraries.

Research

One of the reasons for MOREnet's existence is to support research. This can be scientific research that makes use of MOREnet's resources, academic research on better ways to promote learning through the use of technology or research into technology itself. Discuss developments in research with other users here.

Technology has a huge impact on today's academic and business worlds. Whether sharing new developments in technology, resources to better use it or concerns about it, users can discuss technology in this forum.
